Gus Teja world music is an ethnic music group that blends traditional musical instruments such as slonding, tingklik, drums, and flute combined with modern musical instruments like guitar and bass guitar. Gus Teja world music features flutes from around the world, like the Native American Flutes, Ocarina, Shakuhachi, Pan Flute, Hulusi, and of course the Balinese Flute.

After some reflection and inspiration Gus Teja has finally released his third album entitled ULAH EGAR . The album was inspired by not only traditional Balinese music, but also sounds from around the world. Gus Teja has focused his attention on more upbeat , uplifting album to show the true feeling of Bali. Gus Teja put forth a new wave of collaboration of modern meets traditional with his second album Flutes for Love in 2011 in which was mentioned as the best selling album in Bali – Indonesia

SUNDARA is an ancient Sanskrit word which Gus Teja defines as the beautiful sound of a flute that brings peace and calmness to the soul. 

In this latest album, Gus Teja focuses on the soothing sounds of his flutes to spread a sense of serenity, peace, calm, enchantment, and balance.

There are 10 new titles to this album which Gus Teja self-composed  Sandikala, Danu Suci, Kidung Giri, Sundara, Journey, Nagaraja, and Saraswati. Awan Putih and Langit Biru are both written by Master Hwang Tzu Kwang (Taiwan) and rearranged by Gus Teja. Janger is a popular Balinese folk song rearranged by Gus Teja.   

All flutes featured in Sundara are made entirely by Gus Teja himself.

After going through difficult moments in life, we have all gradually managed to overcome this Covid-19 pandemic. 

The challenges we faced have taught us the importance of preserving life and have made us more prepared to face future challenges. Therefore, together, we should increase our awareness to care for each other more and together, we also need to protect the earth where we live to ensure its sustainability.  As for myself, the pandemic that occurred a few years ago was a life lesson that I will never forget. Like everyone else, the trials and challenges I faced were very heavy. Many activities related to my profession as a musician had to be canceled, and as we all know, we had to isolate ourselves at home without being able to meet our close relatives for quite a long time. But on the other hand, these limitations did not stop me from being creative. The long break since my last album gave me enough time to improve myself and influence my mindset to be more mature in composing new material for my music. Most of the works on this album were born from what is happening today, and thankfully, God has paved the way for me to bring forth these new album.

I am always grateful for what has happen and always strive to give my best in my craft, my music and my fan and in everything I do. For me, creating new works is an opportunity to share “Good Karma” where in this opportunity, we can express all our expressions to convey positive messages to many people.

Therefore, I hereby present you this new album. I pray and hope this album will  inspire you in living your lives to the fullest and with lots of love and joy.
